Chicago State Favored to Win Inaugural Great West Women's Tennis Title

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The Great West Conference women's tennis coaches have selected Chicago State as the favorite to win the inaugural GWC women's tennis championship. The preseason poll was announced Friday by the league office.

Chicago State received four first-place votes for a total of 22 points. Texas-Pan American came in second in the voting with 19 points. NJIT finished third with 14 points, followed closely by North Dakota with 12 points. South Dakota rounded out the voting with eight points.

The 2010 Great West Conference women's tennis championship will be held May 1-2, at Grand Forks, N.D., and will be hosted by the University of North Dakota. The championship format will be a team dual match tournament with playoff competition. Seeding of teams shall be determined by the latest ITA rankings leading up to the championship.
