NAPERVILLE, Ill. - NJIT's Amanda Redden and South Dakota's Jenny Teslow have both been named Great West Conference Offensive Player of the Week while NJIT's Sadie Mele and USD's Jen Ogren shared Defensive Player of the Week accolades for their individual performances last week. The conference office announced Monday.

Redden, a freshman from Hamilton, N.J., captures co-offensive player of the week honors with a game-winning goal against Saint Peter's to lead the Highlanders to a 2-1 victory. The midfielder's game-winner was her first collegiate goal and it could not have came at a better time as Redden found the back of the net in the 83rd minute to give NJIT the road win.

Teslow shares honors after netting two goals in the 2-0 shutout victory over UMKC this past week. The two goals were the first and second of the freshman's career.

Mele earns defensive player of the week honors after collecting 14 saves while posting a 1-1 for the Highlanders this past week. The senior keeper from Rio Rancho, N.M. led NJIT to their first victory of the season with a three save effort in the 2-1 win at Saint Peter's. Mele also recorded 11 saves in a season-opening loss to Monmouth last week.

Ogren, a senior from Raymore, Mo., recorded her second career shutout as she kept off UMKC off the board with 11 saves. The goalkeeper now has collected 35 saves in just three games.

Others nominated were Kristina Burhans (F) and Shelby Horn (GK) of Houston Baptist and Olivia Moore (F) of South Carolina State.
