HBU Men and Women Lead Through 36 at Great West Golf Championship

Houston, Texas - After two rounds at the Great West Conference Championship held at Sienna Plantation Golf Course, the Houston Baptist University men and women both lead while the University of Texas-Pan American's Armen Kirrakossian and HBU's Paige Gibson are the individual leaders with one round left.

On the women's side, HBU fired a 634 to take a 14 stroke lead over UTPA. The Lady Broncs shot 648, followed by Utah Valley University with a 661. In fourth is Chicago State University (680) followed by the University of North Dakota (682) and the University of South Dakota (750).

Gibson is currently 10-over with a 154, four strokes ahead of teammate Andrea Zwartynski and Utah Valley's Brittany Butler who both shot 158. Tied for fourth are sisters Mariale and MJ Camey from UTPA, both tallying 36-hole scores of 160. The HBU men shot 605 for a 23 stroke lead over UTPA, with the Broncs sitting at 623. In third is Chicago State with a two round score of 645, followed by South Dakota (656) and North Dakota (661).

Kirakossian leads by just one stroke after firing a two-over-par 146. UTPA's Shane Pearce and HBU's Jordan Jeffers are both tied for second at 147. The Huskies' Andrew Rollins and Sumin Yu round out the top five with scores of 150 and 151, respectively.

The final round of play will begin at 7:30 on Tuesday morning at Sienna Plantation.
