Houston Baptist's Balbina Guajardo was named Great West Conference Golfer of the Week. The award, the first of the 2010 spring season, was announced Friday by the conference office.

Guajardo placed second with the best collegiate finish of her career at the McNeese Cowgirl Classic in Kinder, La. at Koasati Pines. Guajardo, a freshman, improved each round with scores of 79-75-73 for a three-round total of 227. She led HBU to a fourth-place team finish out of 14 teams.
