NJIT's Denisa Domiterova Named Player of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - NJIT's Denisa Domiterova has been named Great West Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week after outstanding performance as the Highlanders split a pair road games. The award was announced Tuesday by the league office.
Domiterova, a freshman from Zvolten, Slovakia, led NJIT to a 1-1 record last week as the Highlanders defeated Penn and suffered a one-point defeat to Longwood. She averaged 16.5 points and 7.5 rebounds The guard knocked down four 3-pointers and one free throw for a 13 point, six rebound performance in the victory over Penn. She then scored a career-high 20 points and nine rebounds at Longwood - with a season-high six 3-pointers. For the week, Domiterova went 10-of-23 (43 percent) from beyond the arc.
Others nominated were Shanice Steenholdt (Houston Baptist), Madi Buck (North Dakota) and Sammie Jensen (Utah Valley).
