NAPERVILLE, Ill. - NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Utah Valley's Mason Casper has been named America Sky Men's Golf Conference Player of the Week in the first men's golf weekly awards of the 2011-12 season. The awards were announced Friday by the conference office.

Casper, a junior from Springville, Utah, captured the Battle in the Tetons played in Victor, Idaho on Sept. 5-6 by a commanding 10 strokes. He had just one bogey in the 54-hole tournament and shot a final round 67 to set a school record with a three-round total of 14-under-par. Casper followed that showing with a fourth place finish at the Palouise Collegiate played in Pullman, Wash., the next week with a three-round total of 211. Entering the final round, Casper was tied for 14th but a third round 68 propelled him to fourth place.
