Three teams from the Great West Football Conference were ranked in the Street & Smith I-AA Preseason Top 25 poll in the publication's college football preview magazine.
Cal Poly was ranked No. 6, while North Dakota State came in at No. 11 and UC Davis was listed at No. 15.
Cal Poly was picked to win the GWFC by the editors of Street & Smith. The Mustangs had two of the league's top performers in running back James Noble (offense) and linebacker Kyle Shotwell (defense). UC davis running back P.J. Vallier was tabbed as conference's top newcomer in 2006.
