South Dakota's Smith Chosen Player of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - South Dakota's Steve Smith took his 6-11 frame beyond the arc and knocked down five of six shots to claim Great West Conference Player of the Week honors. The award was announced Monday by the conference office.
Smith, a senior center from Sioux Falls, S.D., connected on 83 percent of his three-pointers in the Coyotes 86-74 loss at Wyoming. He hit 8-11 (.727) from the field and was a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line, giving him a career-high 25 points. He also grabbed six rebounds in the contest.
Others nominated for Player of the Week were Carl Montgomery (Chicago State), Chris Flores (NJIT), Chris Clausen (North Dakota) and Matt Mierzycki (Texas-Pan American).
