NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Chicago State's Carl Montgomery posted two double-doubles in league action last week, earning him Great West Conference Player of the Week honors. The award was announced Monday by the conference office.
Montgomery, a junior from Chicago, recorded 19 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in an 85-83 overtime loss to Houston Baptist. Two days later, the 6-7 forward scored 15 points and grabbed 11 boards to give the Cougars a 76-69 homecoming win over Texas-Pan American.
Other nominated for Player of the Week were Miles Dixon (Houston Baptist), Chris Flores (NJIT), Travis Bledsoe (North Dakota), Tyler Cain (South Dakota), Jared Maree (Texas-Pan American) and Justin Baker (Utah Valley).
