OREM, Utah - NJIT head coach Jim Engles and North Dakota head coach Brian Jones received a reprimand from the Great West Conference office for their unsportsmanlike conduct following NJIT's 70-57 win Wednesday night in the first round of the Great West Conference Basketball Tournament.

Engles and Jones exchanged harsh words during the post-game handshake at midcourt and had to be restrained by assistant coaches and tournament personnel.

"The Great West Conference will not tolerate the type of behavior shown by both Coach Engles and Coach Jones," said commissioner Ed Grom. "Coaches serve as representatives of their teams and their respective universities and clearly cannot conduct themselves in that fashion. I understand that tensions can be high at a conference tournament where a championship is on the line, but the coaches crossed the line of sportsmanship and professionalism with their behavior."
